But I was curious and I'll never forget it baby
What an experience.. you coulda been the one but it wasn't that serious
Their was smoke in the air before, now its me clearin' it
That felt good, all and all I learned a lesson from it though
You never see it comin' you just get to see it go
Yeah, I shoulda looked up in the sky at first

Accomplishment

So I'm in my shower just now and something hit me... I am such a lazy guy. I got this past week and following week off due to renovations at my work. And all I been mostly doing is drinking, drinking, and drinking.. drinking... umm.. did i mention drinking? lol I haven't gotten anything around the house done. Living on my own in my apt.. well lets just say I'm not the tidiest guy out there. And most guys like me out there who are living on their own feel what I'm sayin lol. I also realized this past week I been loafting alot, and I forgot to get a lot of things done which should have been done. I was constantly just loafting and making excuses and postponing things I told myself I'd do and then never end up doing. Sound familiar? I'm sure a lot of us go through that on a daily basis. Maybe not everyone but a good chunk lol.

What's accomplishment mean? Well I google'd it. (LOL yes i'm a loser). Basically says "To finish successfully; To complete. etc etc" So whenever we successfully complete something that we hate to do. Don't we feel great though? That we've completed it and now we can feel a sense of accomplishment. For me I realize that feeling.. that feeling of accomplishment.. It's like the best feeling ever. Especially for big tasks such as completing a project or working out for a set amount of weeks, exams whatever. Many of us constantly make excuses when there are certain things we know we should do however we procrastinate and tell ourselves stupid things to postpone them to a later date in which case when that date arrives.. we only make another excuse to postpone it further.

When you complete something, you get pushed into a positive state and will likely attract other positive events. People who understand the law of attraction will know what I'm sayin. I started to track back my recent weeks to certain weeks where I was in the best mood I've been in awhile and tried to understand how it all started. I realized that I was very pro-active during that time and was determined to get things done asap. It wasn't easy but by writing down things I needed to remember, pushing myself to do small things such as clean and some exercises, contacting a previous manager of mines from when I worked for IBM (whom I haven't spoke to in over a year) for lunch cause I wanted to see if there were more progressive opportunities available at all, and a lot of other small and similar tasks. I got all that done in a short amount of time and kept taking initiative to complete things. It put me in a marvelous mind state and pulled me like a magnet towards so many more fun and interesting experiences. My manager told me that he's likely going to have an office job opening at the end of the month and I'm going to be first on his list. Bonus! He even invited me to come watch UFC at a bar one night cause we both love UFC.

I also was able to enjoy those experiences more because in the back of my mind I knew that things that needed to be done have been completed and I didn't have to worry the next morning after partying. My point is if we all just become a bit more disciplined and initiate ourselves to doing more beneficial things besides drinking, blazing, loafting, etc We can improve ourselves and enjoy the benefits that lie ahead. Now obviously this post isn't for everyone cause there are people out there who are much more proactive then I am. This is more for people who are like me who constantly make excuses. Sometimes I realize all these posts or advice I give out, I don't even listen to it sometimes because I forget or again, postpone tasks that need to be done. It maybe like simple things from cleaning up the house, to working out at the gym, finishing homework, studying, organizing mail and bills, to bigger things such as completing a business project, contacting important people, researching for jobs or learning about a specific field of interest.

If we constantly push ourselves to getting these type of things done, we will be able to constantly move forward and improve ourselves. And not only do we work hard.. once your done.. you can truly play hard with no worries and make the spot a carefree environment as if your on vacation. So push yourself, whether it be at home or school or even work. When you become used to earning and working hard, you will see the benefits it provides. A lot of us want to become the boss at our workplace or like the manager, but we never take the necessary steps to get there. Think about it, if your a manager, wouldn't you want to promote the person who works the hardest, does the most jobs in the shortest amount of time.. The one who never complains or sulks when they're told to do something and the one who is always taking initiative to do things others won't and that aren't even in their job description. As a manager or a boss, you have to be able to do everything and more. That way you can tell people what to do because you know what your doing. So do the damn thang! lol
