Tennis Match

A lot of times we are very unsure of what we want. There is always this constant battle between your heart and your mind. Your mind is always telling you what to do in a more logical sense and tells you whats best for you. But your heart always desires the opposite because your feelings pull you towards them. Your mouth says one thing and your heart feels something else. It's a constant tennis match back and forth and a lot of times you feel like your going crazy because you really can't decide between the two. I know a lot of times people go through these things especially when it relates to relationships. I can't help with any advice to make your decision because I haven't figured out the answer myself. And again these are the types of situations where you are the only one who will know what's best. The only thing I can say is that the only thing that would help is the person who is involved with your decision making. Communication is vital when it comes to feelings and choices. If you can somehow get the other person involved and communicate, explain your true feelings and choices and they will give you their honest feelings too, that would definitely help in your decision or at least come to some sort of compromise or absolution. You can only hope, that things will work out the way they're supposed to and just remember though.. at the end of the day.. everything happens for a reason. So again, don't go emo and beat yourself up if it doesn't work the way you want it to. Just move on and find a new desire.

Movie Review : Ninja Assassin

So I watched Ninja Assassin yesturday for the first time. I know this movie has been out for awhile now but I never got a chance to see it. I heard all this talk about how action packed and brutal it is so it really had me interested in seeing the movie.

The movie is basically about an orphan who was raised to become a ninja assassin. He then realizes that killing people wasn't his thing and turned his back against his clan. He then becomes a target and starts fighting against the clan of ninja assassins. I'm not going to get too much into the story as I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

The movie is so graphic. Definitely one of the most graphic action movies I have ever seen. Everytime I thought the action scene was going to end, it only kept going. The storyline is your basic type that includes action, betrayal, love etc. There were two asian guys from the fast and furious series and boy their acting was horrible. I wasn't very impressed with the acting skills in this movie but the action was intense. It only continued to get more and more graphic.

I also started to realize why people always say the power of love is unmatched by anything else. Now your probably sitting there like what is he talking about, this movie isn't a romantic one. True, but haven't you ever noticed how whenever the hero is dying or in pain. All it always takes is that sentimental moment with his lover, and a kiss or tear drop. From there the man turns like super sayain (if you don't watch dragon ball z, it basically means like turning into super form) and he wakes up and starts kicking ass again. Hahaha it always happens like that. Damn I hope next time I'm in pain there will be a girl ready to kiss me in the rain and with a piano'd theme music playing in the backround to revive me. lol

Anyways, if you like action movies especially for the action scenes and not the story, this is definitely a must watch. I would only assume the main consumer market that was targeted for this movie is definitely men lol.

My Rating:
4/5 Stars
+ Action-packed!
+ Very uncensored graphic combat
+ Creative action scenes
- Poor acting
- Basic storyline

No More Zoom Zoom

So I'm sure most of you already know that I recently had my license suspended. I have tried to go to the offense court to have it resolved as it was not my fault to why it was suspended. Just to recap real quick, I was charged with a speeding ticket driving on the DVP. It was a 106 km/hr in a 90 zone. Nothing too crazy but on the ticket, the officer wrote my postal code wrong. I was told and assumed that once an officer makes a mistake on your ticket, that it should be thrown out. That however was not the case when I had filed it for court. They told me it doesn't matter and I should wait for the court notice to come in the mail within the next 6 months. As time went by, nothing showed up regarding it. The Chinese new year weekend, I was driving to work and following all traffic laws then suddenly I see flashing lights in my rear view. The officer asks me my name and asks if I was aware that my license was suspended. I said no I was completely unaware of this. He stated that it was for unpaid fines. I said there aren't any unpaid fines I'm aware of. He took my license and advised me to go to the ministry of transportation for more information. He then advised me to park my car near by or have it towed. I obviously parked it.

I went to the ministry a couple days ago and boy, was it packed. When it came to my turn after waiting 1.5 hours. I explained my situation. The lady said okay, you have two options then. You either pay the fine (which is nothing, $85 for speeding and $150 to get my license back) or you can reopen your file for court but if you do that, your license will be suspended until your court date which could be 6 months from now. I was like, might as well pay for the fine, but then I realize that if I pay for the fine, means that I would be pleading guilty which will result to another increase on my already sky high insurance. I told her I'd have to think before I made my decision.

I have spoken to a lot of my older siblings and friends to figure out the best course of action and obviously everyone has told me to just go to court. So now I won't be driving for at least 6 months which sucks but what can I do right. It also had made me realize how much money I've wasted on this car which I could have saved up this whole year. I am spending at least $800-$1000 a month just on the car which I barely use because since I started work at Eaton Center, I've been riding the rocket to work cause parking is insane. ($25 a day)

I have told myself that I should just try selling the car now and grind for a year or two and save up money because obviously 10 grand a year is a lot of money that can be used for better investment purposes. Don't get me wrong, a car is definitely convenient and makes life much easier but if I can manage to hold off on it for another year or two, I think the money I would be saving would benefit me more in the long run. So no more zoom zoom for me.

FFXIII

I know your all going to think I'm a loser but I'm dying of anticipation for this game to be released here in North America. I love video games and I've been a big fan of the series for awhile ... and I guess that does make me a nerd... oh well. This is definitely one of the reasons why I even bought the PS3. I've always been very impressed with Japanese video games because they are so talented at what they do. The graphics continue to amaze me every year and the storyline, characters and environments are so creatively done.

I rather see things like this in subtitles cause they always sound weird when its translated into English and a lot of the times the translation isn't accurate. Plus on the beneficial side, since I don't do much reading at all, this is my time to shine lol. Most of you probably won't care for this but too bad, lol I like it.

Missing In Action

My next goal is to move to this beautiful city. It has so much beautiful mountains and ocean water. The city seems bigger then Toronto as well. I don't want to live in Toronto my whole life. I want to experience a new lifestyle and learn from new experiences. So this is the plan. Advance and expand my options.

Partners In Crime

Whenever your in a bad situation. There are always a select few of your friends who will pick yu up and put a smile back on your face. They will do everything they can that will make you happy again. Those are the people you should devote your time and energy to because they deserve it more then others. The people who only bring you down more or don't bother to make any sacrifices for you in your time of need aren't the people you should bother to care for. Know who's real from who's not. Give attention to those who deserve it. And let go the ones who will only bring you down.

My Life's Theme Song

"Making your mark on the world is hard.
If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it's not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you won't. It's whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere."

- Barack Obama

Shorty Wanna Be A Thug

We live in a society today which promotes a lot of violence and illegal businesses and it's unfortunate because it makes us into something we think we want to be but don't realize that there is more then meets the eye. This post is mainly targeted towards my male companions. Growing up in regent park, I had to live and learn from my peers who were a lot of times trouble makers and gang related. I cannot say that I haven't been a bad boy either. I have done quite a number of things in my teenage years that my parents would not be proud of and neither am I.

I have made a lot of unnecessary enemies over nonsense as a teen and developed a lot of bad habits which I haven't completely vanquished just yet. I have gotten into quite a number of fights, done quite a few different drugs (not anything crazy though, just the basics) and sold them as well. Today however I am proud to say that it has been a very long time since I have done any of that and I don't plan to go back. But today's youth I notice are doing these types of things at a much younger age and a lot of times, they end up on the news either dead or in jail.

Is it worth it? Don't get me wrong, certain things we cannot avoid and at the time it seemed cool and fun. It was an experience and even though it was bad, I probably wouldn't have learned from my mistakes and become the person I am today. TV and music encourage our youth to believe that being gangster is cool and the things that correlate to being a gangster.

What are the benefits of being a gangster? (or a bad boy w.e. you would like to call it). I guess being intimidating for a boy is a plus. Being popular amongst your peers and especially girls. Selling drugs is a huge profit margin. With regards to selling drugs I'll touch back on next time in a different post. Starting trouble at a young age isn't that bad because you can't really get in much trouble. But ask yourself.. are there more pro's then cons? or is it vice versa.

You become this bad boy on your block and you make enemies based on turf and or gangs. You get into fights and once one fight has started.. many will come for more based on revenge. You could get into a fight which you become paralyzed or even die. Or even get arrested over nonsense and get a criminal record which will haunt you for life And you can even end up in jail and let me tell you.. that is the last place you want to go. Any smart person will tell you that. Or even worse.. you beat up someone's brother, or cousin etc. They come back and kill one of your family member because of your doing. Is that worth it? Yeah you can easily say that you will go back and kill one of theirs but does it bring your family back? Do you really think you can continue living knowing that you are the main cause of a family or friend's death? Nothing is going to bring them back.

In life we make a lot of friends just by a simple introduction and a lot of times making new friends come with benefits as they can help you with a lot of things. However when you always try to act hard and stare people down, only causes them to hate you for no reason without even getting to know you and only cause situations that aren't worth your time. Take for example you are at a bar and you randomly start talking to the guy beside you about his thoughts on a hockey game. You make a few comments and laugh about it. And you end the night. While another guy stares down the guy at the bar and acts all hard like he wants to knock someone out. As the night ends and everyone leaves. Say if the first guy gets into some trouble outside with a random guy on the street. There is a much higher chance that the guy who he was being friendly to, will aid him in his fight. Versus the guy who acted all hard, chances are the guy from the bar will jump in to help kick his ass. Obviously things don't always turn out that way but you get where I'm going with this.

Being a gangster is a status which can only be lived for so long before something really bad happens that we will regret. It's real easy for these rappers to play a gangster because they are behind a camera with police and security around them all day and they are making loads of money which have nothing to do with being a real gangster at all. The point is at the end of the day, you could go much further in life by being more friendlier to people then being all hard and acting as though you run this town. We are men and we all strive for power and it feels good when we have that power. But isn't there a better way of obtaining power? If I could choose, I would rather be a business professional owning a business and have the cops work for me rather then trying to arrest me and living a life of a person who must always look over their shoulder.

And honestly, if you want to impress people with your status.. I am sure most people are more impressed with a successful person who has earned thousands or millions legitimately versus a person who got shot or runs a gang. Becoming a successful professional isn't easy, and it takes sometimes a long and hard time to accomplish that. But it is very easy for someone to get into a fight and start a gang. (Not as easy as I make it sound but you get the point). At the end of the day, I can promise you that keeping your eyes on the real prize (which is becoming successful and a genuinely good person) will take you much further in life and experience much more better things then being a gangster. It would be easier on top of that because you will make more friends then enemies.. and don't they say a key to success is networking? How can you network when everyone you come in contact with hates you?

A New Year

I wish everyone who celebrates chinese new year to have a great prosperous, healthy and wealthy new year. I had a rough start for this chinese new year by getting my driver's license suspended. However it is only because a police officer has made a mistake on my speeding ticket by putting the wrong postal code on the ticket therefore when I filed my court date.. I never received any notices following it there after thus I was convicted. This will all be resolved tomorrow hopefully when I get to the ministry of transportation but not being able to drive my car this weekend sucked lol. Oh well, things happen for a reason so I can only think positively and maybe something better will come from all this. Anyways, enjoy the new years people!
